Short version: your notes stay on your device. The free extension stores everything locally and sends us nothing. We never sell your data or use your notes to train AI.
The Floti extension (Free)
Floti is local-first. The notes you take are stored on your own device using the browser’s local storage (chrome.storage). They are not sent to us or to any server.
No account is required to use the free extension, and we do not collect a name, email, or any identifier from you to use it.
Floti runs only on YouTube watch pages. It reads the video’s current time (to capture timestamps) and the video URL/ID (to keep each video’s notes separate). This happens entirely on your device.
Permissions we request (and why)
“storage” — to save your notes and preferences locally on your device.
Access to youtube.com — to display the floating note over the player, read the current timestamp, and seek the video when you click a timestamp.
Floti does not request access to your browsing history, other sites, your accounts, or your files.
Pro features (opt-in, when available)
Pro is optional and not enabled by default. If and when you choose to enable Pro features, some data leaves your device — and only the data needed for the feature you turn on:
Cloud sync — if you sign in (via Google) and enable sync, your notes are stored in our database (Supabase) so you can access them in the web app. You can turn this off and delete synced data at any time.
AI summaries — if you ask Floti to summarize a note, that note’s text is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the summary. It is not used to train models.
Until you explicitly enable a Pro feature, nothing about your notes leaves your device.
This website
floti.inpresencelab.com is a static marketing page. It does not collect personal information, run advertising trackers, or require an account.
What we never do
We do not sell your data to anyone.
We do not use your notes to train AI models.
We do not track your browsing across the web or read pages other than the YouTube page you are watching.
Data retention
Local notes live on your device until you delete them (or remove the extension). We cannot see or recover them.
If you enable Pro cloud sync, synced data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 14 days of a verified deletion request.
Your rights
You can export or delete your local notes at any time from within the extension.
For any data you have synced via Pro, you can request a copy or deletion by emailing us.

Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how Floti handles your data, we will update this page and note the date below.
